DeQuincy--Hoyt Wayne Boswell, 81, died December 12, 2010 in the Merryville Nursing Center. He was born in Griffin Switch, TX and lived in DeQuincy, La. He was an active member of the Habibi Shriners and their flivver unit. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad as a Signal Maintenance Foreman after 41 years of service.
Survivors include his son; Derek and wife, Janie Boswell of Council Bluff, IA., 2 daughters; Sheila Perry of Fields, La. and Vicki Hemphill and husband, Sherrell of New Caney, TX., a sister; Myrtle Alexander of Houston, TX., 3 grandchildren, Jessica Perkins, Gretchen Anderson and Renee' Tolin, 4 great grandchildren; Chelsea and Bryce Tolin, Zaine Perkins and William Anderson. He was preceded in death by his wife; Victoria "Pete" Boswell, parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services will be Wednesday December 15, 2010 at 2p.m. in Hixson-Snider Funeral Home. Rev. Ray Bourque will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Jacksonville, Tx. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 14 from 4-9p.m. in Hixson-Snider Funeral Home and will resume on Wednesday from 8a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Burn Hospital in Galveston, Tx., or the Habibi Temple Children’s Transport Fund.
