Huey Pierce Johnson

DeQuincy - Huey Pierce Johnson, 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at a local care center.

Huey was a member of the DeQuincy United Methodist Church, and the American Legion Post of Vinton. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1955.

He worked in the oil fields for over 20 years before going to work as a pipefitter with PPG until retiring.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Smith Johnson; sons, Mike Johnson and wife Debbie of DeQuincy, and Darrell Johnson of DeQuincy; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie (Pruitt) Johnson; grandson, Taylor R. Johnson; 5 brothers and 1 sister.

His funeral service will be at 2:00pm Friday November 21, 2014 in DeQuincy United Methodist Church with Rev. Christmas C. Wilbur officiating. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Hixson Snider Funeral Home and resume on Friday at 11:00am at the church until service time.
