Jacob Dietz, 22, of DeQuincy, LA, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014.
He was born May 28, 1992 in Sulphur, to Raymond and Diana (Chester) Dietz. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
Surviving is his parents Raymond and Diana, three brothers, Nicholas, Patrick and Zachary all of DeQuincy, his maternal grandparents, Olin and Ruth Chester, one niece and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jacob was a graduate of DeQuincy High School where he was an outstanding athlete playing both baseball and football. He was a licensed CNA and worked as a caregiver with Leading Healthcare. He was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church and will be remembered for his giving nature, caring heart and his ability to touch so many life’s. His outgoing personality could be seen every day and he loved being a big brother to the children his parents watched.
A visitation will be Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 4 to 9 pm at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy with a rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:00 am until leaving for the service. A funeral mass will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in DeQuincy. Burial will follow the service at Masonic Cemetery.
