Janice Ellen (McCorquodale) Clifton, 72, of Alma, Georgia but a long time resident of Westlake, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. She was born on December 30, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois. Her and her husband loved riding motorcycles, scuba diving, listening to Jimmy Buffet, boating, camping, antique shopping, loved animals, and traveling the country. Janice was a graphic designer, and especially loved drafting. She was a Real Estate Agent and Appraiser for many years before retiring. Janice was a member of the Eastern Star. She grew up in Douglas Chapel in Alma, Georgia and in later years became a member of Gateway Church of God in Moss Bluff.
She is survived by her mother, Retha McCorquodale of Nicholls, Georgia; one son, Jonathan Clifton (Nicole) of DeQuincy, Louisiana; two daughters, March Clifton of Nicholls, Georgia and Natalie Derouen (Aric) of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Judson Derouen and Aayden Derouen; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Wayne "Sam" Clifton; her father, James Wesley McCorquodale; along with one brother, Timothy Wesley McCorquodale.
A time of visitation will be held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy, Louisiana on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
A Celebration of Janice's life will be held in Alma, Georgia at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospital.
Burial will be at Douglas Chapel Cemetery in Alma, Georgia.
