DeQuincy - Jayne Hall Braselton, 94, peacefully departed on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 with her Savior and family by her side.
She was very active in her church and the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Braselton was a member of many committees at various times during her membership and until her death she led the Prayer Chain and the Bereavement Committee. She taught Sunday School for most of her adult life. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and prepared 3 meals a week for them up to a week before she passed. She lived by her basic beliefs, love God, your family and your neighbor.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clovis Braselton. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela B. Irwin and husband Rusty of DeQuincy; brother, Sam Hall and wife Stephanie of Tyler, Tx; sister, Ann Black of Minden, La.; grandchildren, Tricia Busceme and husband Anthony of DeQuincy, Layton Irwin and wife Kasha of DeQuincy and Hugh Irwin and wife Emily of Canonsburg, Pa.; great grandchildren, Karley, Cullen, Austin, Ike and Eli.
Her funeral will be at 2:00p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012 in DeQuincy United Methodist Church. Rev. Gloria Youngblood will officiate. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Snider Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. at Hixson Snider Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday December 12, 2012 and resume on Thursday from 10:00a.m. until time of service at the Methodist Church.
