Karen Lynn (Alston) Harris, 55, of Lake Charles, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. She was born to her late parents, Kenneth and Mary Alston on July 7, 1966 in Pasadena, TX. She took great pride in serving people, especially in her business, "Lil' Lucy Ice Cream Truck. If anyone was ever in need, she was always there for them and would give the shirt off of her back. Karen was truly the backbone of her family. Her grandchildren were her life and she loved them very much. Spending time with them, was the best part of her life. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior, and had always said "when it is my time to go, she was ready."
She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Michael Jay Harris; son, Michael Colton Harris of Dallas, TX; daughters, Ashlyn Paige Harris Lynn (Blake) of Singer, LA, Jessica Alisha Saucier (Dustin) of Ragley, LA; three brothers, Coy Alston of Denton, TX, Lucas Alston of DeQuincy, LA, and Rick Whitman of Saltillo, MS; two sisters, Patricia Alston Baugh of Vinton, LA, Kelly Winkler of Harrison, AR; grandchildren, Cash Anthony Lynn, Mason Carter Lynn, Arriona Raeleigh Yocham, Declan Laveau Yocham, and Adeline Isabelle Yocham; along with three in-laws, J.W. Harris, Alyce Winkler, and Jim Winkler.
Karen is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Carolyn Harris (GG); and her aunt and uncle, Bartie and Bill Standley.
A Celebration of Karen's life will be held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 1:00pm, with Bro. Paul Nugent officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 11:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Perkins Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for funeral expenses.
