Margaret Cooley

Margaret Cooley, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of DeQuincy for many years and worked in the Children’s Department at the church. She was also a member of WMU, a mission worker, and would go visit people who were unable to be at church. Margaret was also one of the “Pink Ladies” at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital. She also was a member of the Home Demonstration Club.

She is survived by three children, Raymond Cooley and wife Pat of DeQuincy, Kim Buxton and husband Dennis of DeQuincy,

Kit Spinelli and husband Don of Broken Arrow, OK, and daughter in law Carolyn Carraway and husband Pete of Lake Charles. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild whom she loved dearly.

Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband Cruse Cooley, a son Ronald G. Cooley, a daughter Pamela Cooley, parents Thomas and Ida Sanders, two brothers T.J. Sanders and Leondis Sanders, and two sisters Lola Mae Courmier, and Eula Brown.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church of DeQuincy on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 2:00pm. Visitation will also be held at the church on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and will resume on Friday at 10:00am until the time of the service.
