Mary Lee Overmyer

Mary Lee Overmyer, 81, of DeQuincy, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026. She was born to her late parents, Fred and Evelyn Leach on March 17, 1945 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She worked as an office manager for H&R Block. She loved sacrificially, enjoyed dancing and cake decorating, but more than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mary was a long time member of Hargrove Bible Baptist Church where she faithfully served.

She is survived by her two children, Monique Overmyer of Leander, Texas and Kenneth Lee Overmyer, Jr. of Battlement Mesa, Colorado; two siblings, Judy Barrow (Donald) of Ragley, Louisiana and Mary Nell Payton of Alabaster, Alabama; along with her three grandchildren, Jordyn Deshotel, Zayedah Overmyer, and Ryker Overmyer.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Overmyer, Sr; along with two siblings, Fred Joseph Leach and Joann Rice.

A Celebration of Mary's life will be held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy, Louisiana on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 3:00 pm, with Bro. Vance Perkins officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will be at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy, Louisiana.
