Michelle Darlene McKelvain

Ragley - Michelle Darlene McKelvain, 53, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013 at a local hospital.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in DeQuincy. Michelle thoroughly enjoyed her grandsons and family get together’s. She was very giving and thoughtful to others. She loved to night fish at their camp on Toledo Bend. Michelle was cheerful and had a wonderful outlook on life. She loved to shop and cook, had a good sense of humor and never met a stranger. She valiantly fought the trials of M.S. for 32 years, she helped others cope with the same illness. She had a strong conviction of Jesus Christ, who helped her thru her journey. Michelle will truly be missed by all.

Survivors include her husband, Doug McKelvain; parents, Edward and Totsie Istre; son, Bobby McKelvain; brothers, Mike Istre and wife Tanya of Moss Bluff, LA and Philip Istre of Pigeon Forge, TN; niece; Camryn Istre; numerous nieces and nephews, and two grandchildren, Damien Cole and Domnick Gage McKelvain.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, August 1, 2013 in DeQuincy Church of Christ with Bill Collins, Joey Franks and Ray Franks officiating. Burial will be in Bivens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 2:00 thru 8:00pm and resume on Thursday from 10:00am until service time at the church.
