Mona Masingill Broussard “affectionally known as Grandmona”, 92, of DeQuincy, Louisiana, passed into the arms of her Savior on Monday, May 19, 2025. She was born to her late parents, A. Francis and Vera Masingill on May 23, 1932 in DeQuincy, Louisiana. A. Francis and Vera Masingill were owner/operators of the DeQuincy News where Mona grew up. She loved everything about DeQuincy and the News. She was a lifelong member of DeQuincy United Methodist Church where she faithfully served. Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed traveling the world.
She is survived by her three children, Frances “Fran” Hill (Noel) of Longville, Louisiana, Laura Beth Kimball (Tom) of DeQuincy, Louisiana, and Leigh Jacobs (Morgan) of DeQuincy, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Megan Martin (Will), Kaitlyn Herron (Chris), Kaci Berry (Greg), Kiley Hand (Javen), Emily Boyer (Harper), and Caleb Jacobs; seven great grandchildren, Ian, Gabbie, Tristan, Cole, Hannah, Wyatt, Sawyer, and Lincoln; her sister-in-law, Zona Arceneaux; along with her beloved nieces and nephew.
Mona is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. F.H. Broussard; an infant daughter, Anita Louise Broussard; along with her parents.
A Celebration of Mona's life will be held at Crosspoint Community Church (formerly DeQuincy Methodist Church) on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Jim Barrett officiating. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at the church at 9:00 am until the time of the service. A Private burial will be at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy, Louisiana.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for Mona’s caregivers who were very dear and special to her, Kim and Valerie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to DeQuincy Methodist Church in DeQuincy, Louisiana.
