Myrtle Ruth (Jacobs) Christerson

Myrtle Ruth (Jacobs) Christerson, 80, of DeQuincy, passed into the arms of her Savior on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Christus St. Patrick's Hospital. She was born to her late parents, John and Lee Alice Jacobs on September 28, 1941 in DeQuincy, LA. Myrtle enjoyed shopping, spending time with her grandchildren, and took great pride in her students whom she taught for many years. She spent over 40 years as an educator.

She is survived by her son, Richard Christerson and wife Erin; three daughters, Annette Muller and husband Kevin of Italy, TX, Laura McWhorter and husband David of Midlothian, TX, Danielle Christerson of DeQuincy; brother, Garland Jacobs and wife Ronda of DeQuincy; twelve grandchildren, Christian, Mellissa, Lydia, Kayleigh, John, Jacob, Elyn, Scotti, Allie, William, Grace, Glory Kate; along with eight great grandchildren, Trae, Clyde, Lane, Cruz, Taylor, Saydee, Kasper, and Harper.

Myrtle is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Jerry Christerson; parents; son, John David Christerson; brother, Johnnie Jacobs; and sister, Judith Littlejohn.

Services will be held at Pentecostal House of Praise in DeQuincy on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 11:00am, with Bro. Alvin Dale Smith officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume at Pentecostal House of Praise on Friday, from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Perkins Cemetery.
