

Otis Joseph Manceaux Jr. 87, passed away in Lufkin, TX on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Mr. Manceaux was born September 5, 1929 in Gueydan Louisiana. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 0086 in Nacogdoches, TX. Also, he was proud of his Military service in the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War. He believed in living life to the fullest –He was a retired carpenter and truck driver. After many years on the road, his wife finally convinced him to stay closer to home. During his retirement years, he enjoyed fishing and visiting with old friends. He would take on special tasks, such as making his two daughters, potato boxes, and gunracks for his grandsons. He was obviously a man of many talents. His most cherished hobby was spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Jackie Saucier of Sulphur, LA, Patsy Perkins of DeQuincy; sister, Trudy Douget of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren; great grandchildren; great, great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Versie Manceaux; his parents, Otis and Theola Manceaux; two sons, Roger Dale Ashworth and James Green; along with one sister, Loretta Laviolette.
Services will be held at 11:00a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church of DeQuincy. Visitation will be on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Hixson Snider Funeral Home from 5:00-9:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm and Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 9:00am until the time of the service at the church.
