Sharon Gale Mueller

DeQuincy - Sharon Mueller, 73, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at a local hospital.

Mrs. Mueller was born in Spokane, Washington and she lived in DeQuincy since 1974. She was an active member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church where she served as CYO Director and co-founded the Thanksgiving Basket Program at the church. She was also a Catechism Teacher. Sharon was very active in various community and civic organizations. She also received the Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award and the Civic Pride award. She ran the DeQuincy Oak Recreational Center and started many youth activities. She was like a Mother to everyone. She baked many Birthday cakes for the people of DeQuincy and was a creative and talented artist and crafter teaching others her skills. She supported all local sporting events. She never met a stranger and only sought the best in people. Mrs. Mueller was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She was known by most as MeMaw.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Joseph Mueller of DeQuincy; sons, Chris Mueller and wife Laurie, Jeff Mueller of Carlyss and John Mueller of Arlington, Tx.; daughters, Shelli Mueller Richard and husband Steve of DeQuincy, Kelly Mueller Conway and husband Joe of Katy, Tx.; sister, Linda Cooper of Spokane, Wa.; 9 grandchildren; Jayme, Tyler, Amy, Jade, Matt, Kaci, Tayler, Cassidy and Colin; 5 great grandchildren, Carter, Grant, Harper, Marley and Grady. She was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence & Hazel Griffith and grandson, Ryan Edward Richard.

Her funeral service will be at 1:00p.m. Thursday April 17, 2014 at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church with Father Ed Brunnert and Father Eddie Richard officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 9 at Hixson Snider Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday at 8:00am at the funeral home.
