He was a native of Jennings and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 55 years. Stephen worked for many years in local industry as a pipefitter. He was a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, making sausage, gardening, and spending time with his grandson and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Kristy Gott and Bradley Gott, both of Sulphur; his sisters, Rebecca Gott Lee of Tennessee, Margaret Gott Griffin (Steve) of Sulphur, Stacy Gott Armstrong (Kevin) of Jennings, and Kathy Vincent of Sulphur; his grandson, Jason Tyler Ray (MaKenzie); two great-grandchildren, Sawyer James Ray and Hazel Grace Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife of over 50 years, Elina Gott; and his four-legged partner in crime, "Gator".
The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff members of Sage Specialty Hospital in Lake Charles for the excellent care and support shown to Stephen during his last days.
