Velma Rose Stanley

Starks, Velma Rose Stanley, 84, passed away on Thursday, February, 6, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Stanley was Pentecostal by faith and a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Starks. She worked

for the School Board for 28 years and also the Voting Comission. She loved to travel, spend time with family

and children, cook and sew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charlie Wilburn Stanley; son Jimmy D. Stanley and brother

Norris Drake. Survivors include her sons, David R. (Sharon) Stanley, Phillip D. (Robin) Stanley both of Starks;

daughter, Vanessa Jones of Starks; brother, Quinton (Nancy) Drake of Toledo Ben; sisters, Norma Jean (Robert)

Says of Starks, Betty Jo (Dub) Matthews of Leesville and Idell (Carlton) Gibson of Starks; 8 grandchildren and she

was blessed with numerous great grandchildren.

Her funeral services will be at 2:00pm Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the First Pentecostal Church of Starks with

Rev. Greg Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 8 from 6:00pm

until 9:00pm and resume on Sunday from 1:00pm until service time at the church. Words of comfort may be shared
