Verna “Robbie” Roberta Dunham, 82, of DeQuincy, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Christus St. Patrick’s Hospital. She was born to her late parents, Elwood and Mildred Keltzing on February 20, 1936, in Paulsboro, NJ. She was a faithful member of DeQuincy United Methodist Church for many years, holding various offices with the UMW. She was proud of her military service in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. She worked as an LPN at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital and Phelps Correctional Institute after receiving her degree from Sowela. Before becoming a nurse, she worked at the DeQuincy Library. Her hobbies include traveling, needle work, and taking care of her cat Marty. She was fond of her missionary work, especially when she went to Ecuador using her nursing skills.
She is survived by her son, Mark Dunham and wife Michelle of DeQuincy; grandchildren, Amanda Dunham Lenz and husband Christian of Montgomery, TX, Shane Hollander and fiancé Britany of Rosepine; and Kristina Dunham of Orange, TX; and great granddaughter, Bella Lenz.
Robbie is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dunham; and one son, Edward “Skip” Dunham, Jr.
Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Hixson Snider Funeral with Rev. Richard Teeter officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 12:00pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the DeQuincy United Methodist Church, The HOBO Hotel, or any non-kill animal shelter.
