

Willard Ray Williams, 85, of Ragley passed away February 23, 2017. He was born in 1931 in Ragley, LA to the late George and Mary Williams. In 1972 he met the love of his life, Betty Jane Gibbs and together they had over 30 years of love and laughter.
Willard was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving during the Korean War. He went on to graduate from McNeese State University and work for the United States Postal Service until he retired in 1999. He was an iconic barefooted squirrel hunter and it can honestly be said that he loved it as much as he loved his beer, except the non-alcholic variety!
He is preceded in death by his loving wife; Betty Jane and daughter; Becky Buller, brothers & sisters; Alton Williams, Jewel Hollingsworth, Pearl Trotter, Ruby Hannan, Adrine Williams, LulaMae (Bill) Trostle and Drucille Simmons Messina. He is survived by his children; Randy (Cindy) Chaumont, Grant Chaumont, Kim (Bryan) Hollingsworth, Tammie Chaumont and Diane Vidrine, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and sister; Lurline Warren. Willard will be deeply missed and always remembered by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 11:00 am until Funeral Services at 2:00 pm at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, Dequincy. Burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, LA. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
