William Mancel Lyons

Singer - William Mancel Lyons, 84, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in his residence.

He was born February 26, 1929 to Wasey and Vera Lyons. Mr. Lyons is Baptist by faith and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He retired from Conoco Oil with 39 years of service. He was devoted to family and he loved to travel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wasey and Vera Lyons; wife, Mary Ruth Dickerson Lyons; brothers, Alvin and Aubrey; sister, Ann; granddaughter, Amy and great granddaughter, Audriey. Survivors include sons, Blake Lyons and wife Shirley and James Rainwater and wife Theresa; daughters, Charlene Stanley and husband Lanise and Judy Clark; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; brother, Wasey Lynn Lyons and sisters, Sandra, Sue, Carol and Lucille.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Friday, June7, 2013 in Hargrove Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Nugent officiating. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Snider Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday June 6, 2013 at the Hargrove Bible Baptist Church from 5:00 - 9:00pm and resume on Friday from 9:00am until service time.
