DeQuincy - Winston "Ray" Valdays, 64, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 in Resthaven Care Facility.
Coming from Glenmora, La., Mr. Valdays lived in the DeQuincy area 30 years and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a U.S. Marine Vietnam Veteran.
Survivors include his adopted mother, Fannie Monk of Glenmora; 1 daughter, Lacy Huesers and husband Chad of Ragley, La.; 3 brothers, Robert Valdays of Alexandria, La., William Gerald Valdays of Wisconsin and Benjamin Clyde Valdays of Baton Rouge, La.; one adopted brother, Earl Monk of Dayton, Tx.; sister Ruby Darlene Bennett of DeQuincy, La.; adopted sisters, Ellen and Peggy; 2 grandsons, Alston and Dustin. He was preceded of by his parents William and Emma Valdays and his sister Carolyn Alston and several other brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday May 20, 2013 at 2:00p.m. in Hixson Snider Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Drew Fontenot will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00p.m. til service time.
