Dear Karen and Ken,

I just learned your father passed away. He was a dear friend and a mentor to me when I was a new detective.  He probably had the greatest sense of humor of any detective I ever knew.  He will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives he touched.

    I worked with Dick in the inventory business in the 1960's.  He was always fun to
work and be with.  He always kept me in stitches with his sense of humor.  He will be remembered by me and many others.  May he rest in the peace of the Lord.
