OBITUARY
Baisel Lyle Rhynard
December 11, 1927 – February 19, 2021
It is with remorse that we announce the death of Baisel Lyle Rhynard at the age of 93. Baisel passed from this earth on February 19, 2021 at approximately 1:14pm.
Born on December 11, 1927 in Clinton Township, Michigan, he grew up during the depression in impoverished circumstances. A man of great resourcefulness and ability, he rose above the adverse conditions of his youth, becoming an Operating Engineer, and a successful farmer. Throughout his life, he acquired knowledge that he generously shared with family, friends and neighbors. Moreover, he developed an admirable character of fortitude, frugality, integrity, and kindness, that was undergirded by his unyielding faith in God.
Baisel enjoyed a nearly 60-year-long marriage to Mary Louise Stillwagon, who predeceased him on October 10, 2004. Baisel and Mary were married on January 7, 1945 and were then blessed by the birth of their first child, Louise Kay (Thompson). The family grew with the ensuing births of children Joan Susanne (Bovee Vink), Mary Lynn (Baumgras, d. June 10,2016), Karen Gayle (Kron), and Baisel Lee, and came to include 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. He was vigorous and continued farming until nearly 90, when pulmonary fibrosis made it difficult to do the multitude of chores that were long a source of enjoyment for him.
Baisel knew every square foot of his farmland, orchard, woodlands and garden, which were cultivated through nearly 70 years of hard work and dedication. He loved the outdoors, had a near encyclopedic knowledge of farming, beekeeping, and almost every creature great and small that shared the land with him. He cared deeply for the friends and family in his life and was in turn rewarded by love and devotion from those who understood him best. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, as he wished.
Thank you, Dad for the time you shared with us, and for the precious memories you leave. Be at peace and say hello to Mom and Mary.
Due to COVID a private family service and burial will be held.

I was at the hospital visiting my brother David the night before he passed. I remember thinking something was different in his eyes that night. Thinking that was weird because his eyes were closed. How could I know that? Not really understanding what this meant. The next day after David passed, Baisel made the comment "David was gone last night". I told Baisel, "Thank You for saying that". That's what I was feeling, it was the spirit. I didn't know Baisel well but he always treated me with respect. I had a lot of respect for him.
Amazing how a person can impact another person's life with just a few words. Those few words gave me a better understanding of the Spirit of God. Baisel showed our family respect when we (Davids Siblings an Family) passed by Baisel to say goodbye to David, Baisel stood up and greeted us. He made us feel like we mattered.
R.I.P Baisel. I will never forget you.
