Barbara Ann Scott

Barbara Ann Scott, "Aunt Barb", age 79, passed away on October 4, 2017 after a long illness, with her loved ones by her side. Barb was born May 12, 1938 in Lansing, Michigan, but was raised in Engadine in the Upper Peninsula and always considered herself a "Yooper". Oh, how she loved to Polka! Barbara will be greatly missed by her son, Russell Scott, Jr.; daughter-in law, Jamie; grandchildren, AJ, Ransom, Spencer, Scott, Dustin, Katie and Leslie Sulcer; extra special nephews and nieces, Donnie Sulcer, Michael Sulcer, Gabe Parsons, Barbie Caldwell; brother, Donald Sulcer; and sister, Christine. Barb also leaves behind her companion and dancing partner of 20 years, Donald Gath. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Effie (Ozanich) Sulcer; and beloved husband of 27 years, Russell E. Scott, Sr. Barb retired after 32 years as a supervisor from the State of Michigan Treasury Department, though one of her favorite jobs was as a switchboard operator at Bell Telephone in 1956. A special thank you goes to Barb's kind and compassionate care team at The Willows of East Lansing Legacy, and Compassus Hospice. Funeral services will take place 1:00pm Monday October 9, 2017 with visitation one hour prior at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel.
