Bernice Bohland

Bernice G. Bohland, born November 11, 1914 to Byron and Mintie (Young) Stone in Newaygo County, Michigan, passed away February 18, 2013. Mrs. Bohland was a resident of the Lansing area since 1937. She was an active member of Gunnisonville United Methodist Church since 1967 and of the Rural Mission Society since 1950. Bernice was also an active volunteer through the Gunnisonville Service Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1992. Surviving to cherish her memory are daughter, Judith (Stanley) Strieter of DeWitt, MI and son, James (Sally) Bohland of Blacksburg, VA; grandchildren, Debi (Randy) Eddy, Jay (Sharon) Bohland, Jon (Cindy) Bohland; great-grandchildren, Teagan Singer, Johnathon Singer and Isabella Bohland. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, February 22 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, Michigan. Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Gunnisonville United Methodist Church, 2031 E. Clark Rd, Bath, MI 48808 and/or Hospice Advantage, 801 S. Waverly, Suite 304, Lansing, MI 48917, in memory of Bernice Bohland.
