Born April 29, 1917 and died May 15, 2011 at the age of 94. Bert was raised in Royal Oak, and lived most of his life in Ohio and Michigan where he worked for Johns Manneville as a chemical engineer. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he worked on the Manhattan Project. He earned degrees from Albion College and the University of Michigan. After retirement in 1982, he moved with his loving wife of 69 years, Leil (nee Benish), to Tucson, AZ, where they enjoyed hiking and golfing with many life-long friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Bob Graham (Jan) of DeWitt, MI, and daughters Lynne Graham of San Diego, CA, Karen Schoff (Jack, deceased) of Niles, MI, and Nancy Swantek (Rich) of DeWitt, MI. Grandchildren include Jeff (Renee), Kevin and Alan Schoff, Dana and Erin Graham, and Kiersten and Suzanne Swantek; Great Grandsons, Brady and Tyler Schoff. A family memorial service is planned at Mullet Lake Village, MI, where Bert and his family spent many summers.
