Bettie Shellberg

Bettie Jane Shellberg, 84, of DeWitt, Michigan, passed away on January 28, 2025, leaving a void her family will never be able to fill. She had a radiant smile that could light up a room as she made everyone around her feel welcomed, special, and loved.

She was born in Kalkaska, Michigan to Clarence and Mildred Matthews.

Bettie was a loving mother to Todd and Amy and always put the needs of her children and family before those of her own. She was a beautiful, kind and extremely creative soul who loved making stained glass pieces and watercolor paintings. She also loved gardening and had beautiful flower gardens.

She was married to Bill for 65 years. Bill passed away on November 22, 2024. Now they will spend eternity with one another.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings; Barb, Bonnie and Harold. She is survived by her son Todd (Jane Miller Shellberg) and daughter Amy Motz, Grandchildren Brandon (Maddy) and Spencer Shellberg and Emberly (Ty Wilson) and Matt (Claire) Motz. She also had two beautiful great grandchildren, Samuel and Ellie.

We will never forget the love and happiness she brought to our lives.

A visitation for Bettie will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912.
