Billy Harrison Hensley
September 6, 1936 – November 2, 2018
Billy passed away in his home surrounded by family on Friday, November 2, 2018. Billy, son of Noah and Clara (Wilder) Hensley, was born on September 6, 1936 in Rosehill, Virginia. Billy is preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher; two sisters, Dorothy and Rose. He is survived by his loving wife, Faye; two sons, Roland (Marie) and Ronald (Jane); daughter in law, Karen; brother, Luther; three sisters, Verna, Ruth and Bonnie; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Kenway (Stacy), Karly (Jordan), Dana (Dan), Nicolai (Carly), and Kyle; two great grandsons, Marshall and Noah; and many nieces and nephews. Billy was a wonderful provider for his family and worked at Fisher Body for over 30 years. Following retirement, if he wasn't at an auction or car show, you'd find him at home nurturing his beautiful gardens. His final years were spent in the comfort of his home of 52 years with his wife and frequent visits from family and friends. At home he'd be in one of his favorite t-shirts while watching a good western or enjoying the birds at their feeder. Billy also loved playing music, singing, fixing up cars, collectibles, animals and sharing a good joke. Above all, Billy was most fond of his family. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, November 6th at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8pm on Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
