Carl Raymond Lorraine, born November 5, 1936, died November 16, 2013. At 1:35 p.m. on the 16th of November, Carl completed his life’s journey. He passed very peacefully surrounded by people who loved him. He led a very full productive life. He was a master with metal and made a welder come alive. Carl loved fishing on the Great Lakes, riding and repairing motorcycles and exploring the woods and back trails with a Jeep he built by hand. His greatest accomplishment was being my husband for 57 years. I loved him as a boy of 15 and loved him until he took his last breath on the 16th. Carl retired from the Lansing School District at the age of 56. For over 30 years he served in several capacities, but when he retired he was in his favorite job of all. He was a boiler repairman. Carl loved his boilers and was very proud of the almost perfect condition he kept them in. I wish to thank all of the people who cared for him at Whitehills Health Care Center and to any and all of you who called him friend. We’ll miss him so much, but life goes on, so we will go on, not without you, but with you forever in our hearts. Have a safe journey, buddy. We will see you later!
