Cleo “Pat” Cassel, 84, passed away June 7, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth (Davison) Cassel; sister, Naomi Mayes; and 3 brothers, Clifton, Calvin, and Bob Cassel. Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Betty; 7 children, Candy C. Wall, Patricia (Mark) La Count, Charles J. Cassel, Jacqueline S. (Daniel) Rieppel, William J. (Stacy) Cassel, Mark J. (Dori) Cassel, and Mary A. (David) Frook; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Pat served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner of Cassel Radiator Repair in DeWitt Township. Pat was an active member of the DeWitt VFW Post 671, serving with the Honor Guard and the Lansing VFW Post 701 Cooties. He also served on the DeWitt Township Fire Department for 16 years. Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing softball. He was very active and loved the outdoors, playing horseshoes, camping, traveling, riding motorcycles, and snowmobiling.
