Donald (Don) Gary Selden, 42, from DeWitt, Michigan, was given his angel wings on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Don left for work as usual for his job as a Motor Vehicle Operator for the State of Michigan, Vehicle and Travel Services. Sexton High School in 1990 and previously worked at Paramount Coffee, Shaw’s Enterprises, MPC Cashway Lumber, and L&L Shop-Rite. Don had just celebrated his 42nd birthday the day before his death and was a fun-loving man with a ready smile and loved his family more than anything! He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and friend who took great pride in sharing stories about his family! He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being in the outdoors. Don was an avid bowler and spent much time in the bowling alley where he met his wife Jami. He took pride in all that he did, whether helping a neighbor, parenting a child, coaching t-ball, or working. Don was active in the Work of Heart foster/adoption/kinship support group in Clinton County.

Don was preceded in death by his daughter Michaela and uncle Rich Robbins.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 12 years, Jami Lyn (Getzen); daughters Sadi, Taylar, Savanna, Kaylee and son, Emerson; mother, Doris M. I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Don in Youth Group at First UMC when we were teenagers. He was always so full of life, and was always willing to help out, especially if it involved being physically active. We weren't close, but Don was the kind of person that you could consider a friend within minutes of meeting him.
