She was born June 23, 1953 to Ronald Lee and Lois Mae Hay(Aldrich). Upon her mother's illness she was raised by her grandmother, Martha Aldrich. A 1971 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School, she worked in various industries until she began working in the accounting field.
She met her husband Duane Sperry in 1973 while working at a small accounting firm. She joked about his sense of humor by saying "I knew and I married him anyway". Married on July 18, 1975, they enjoyed over 46 years of marriage. She went to work for the State of Michigan in 1975 as a GeneralClerk 01 and retired in 2008 as a Financial Analyst. She enjoyed sports of all sorts. Played softball for 28 years, until injuries and age forced her to quit. She played soccer, tennis, golf none very well and liked to walk. Bowled a 300 game and recorded an ace in golf. Her family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her husband, son Bryan (Heather) Sperry of Ionia and daughter Annette (Ryan) Gardner of Lansing. 11 grandchildren. Ben and Tyler Sperry, Jenna, Hanna, Shauna and John (III) Wheeler, and Isaac Martin all of Ionia. Alina Gardner of Lansing Kailie and Jolee Gardner of Sunfield and Aiden Dutcher of Lansing. 2 sisters Vicki (Doug) Langworthy of Rapid City SD and Janine (Ron) Fischer of Lakeland FL. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ronna Wall (Hay) and Sally Hay and her very special Grams Martha May Aldrich (Symonds).
