Dorothy Mae Keck

DeWitt, Michigan

Dorothy Mae Keck, was born on October 4, 1926 in Lansing, the daughter of the late Caryl and Irene Gall, and passed peacefully surrounded by her family on January 5, 2015 at the age of 88. She was Clerk for the city of DeWitt and Secretary for the DeWitt Community Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 70 years where she was a Past Matron and Past Grand Chaplain for the State of Michigan. She loved butterflies, grandkids, great grandkids, cats and travel with her husband. She was predeceased by parents; husband, Richard Keck; son-in-law, Michael Shooltz Sr.; and great granddaughter, Jamie Hutchinson. Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Richard (Elise) Keck; daughter, Shelley (Tom) Reust; grandchildren, Michael (Tanja) Shooltz Jr., Christopher (Lisa) Shooltz, Kelly (Chris Wallace) Shooltz, Heather Reust and Tom (Heather) Reust Jr.; great grandchildren, Tyler Shooltz, Devin Shooltz, Evan Shooltz, Brenden Shooltz, Alex Hutchinson, Baylee Reust, Kylee Reust, Aubree Reust, Ben (Stephanie Cook) Scott, Denise (Josh Stambaugh) Scott; a great great grandson to arrive in February; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the funeral home from 2~4:00 PM and 6~8:00 PM with an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7:30 PM. Dorothy’s family would like to thank the staff at Hazel Findlay Country Manor for their loving care for the 2.5 years she lived there.
