Dorothy Marie Wood

DeWitt, Michigan,

Age 92, went to her Lord on January 16, 2014. She was born December 10, 1921 in Carson City, MI, daughter of Mathias and Myrtle Hutting. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rex, and son, Mark. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked for Consumers Power Company in Carson City and Lansing for almost 25 years. She enjoyed her volunteer work at the Catholic Community of St. Jude in DeWitt and lived most of her life in the DeWitt area. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross. Surviving are her four children, Melody (Ken) Bliesener, Brian (Sandi) Wood, Brenda (Ken) Lowe, and Michelle Wood; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchilden.

A funeral mass will be celebrated for Mrs. Wood at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 20, at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge Street in DeWitt with Rev. Michael Williams presiding. Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to mass and the rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m.
