Douglas Arthur Shooltz, 71, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at his home in Bath, Michigan. Doug loved hunting and golfing with his best friend Gary McDurmon and his nephews, Steve, Allen, and Brian Wallace. He golfed on several golf leagues and was known as “St. Doug” on the golf league with Fran’s co-workers.

He cherished every moment with all his nieces and nephews; they were all a huge part of his life. He was a genuine family man and family always came first. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alwin and Rudy Shooltz, and his sisters, Elaine Wallace and June Madden.

Doug loved his wife Fran of 53 years; his son Keith (Holly) Shooltz; granddaughter, Leah (Jeff) Clark; the apples of his eye, great-grandkids Aubrey Lynn and Carter James Clark; and his brothers, Bill (Ginny) Shooltz, LaVerne Shooltz, and Wayne (Marilyn) Shooltz. He was truly a great father, grandpa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, and will be missed forever.

So sad to see you go. Someone once told me you only meet a handful of genuine people in life, and Doug was certainly one of them. Whether golfing, hunting, Wyoming trips, or anywhere we traveled together, I have nothing but great memories ( except for the hospital in Rapid City ). 'Til we meet again.
