

Bette Boutwell, 89, a longtime resident of Haslett and DeWitt communities; a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away Jan. 8, 2016. She was born March 5, 1926 in Elrosa, MN to the late Joseph and Anna (Hens) Evens.
She is survived by daughters, Debby (Dr. Robert) Strange of Laingsburg, MI and Roberta (Earl) Cambra of DeWitt, MI; granddaughter, Dr. Stefani Strange of Howell, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Tom; her parents and her twelve brothers and sisters.
Bette was a ray of sunshine to everyone and loved helping people. She greeted everyone with a big smile and kind words. Because of her personality, she was great in sales. She worked at May Company in Cleveland, OH in the early 1950’s; Winkelman’s in Lansing, MI in the 1970’s; and enjoyed being an Avon Lady for 25 years in the Haslett and DeWitt communities. She and Tom enjoyed square dancing, Eastern Star, playing cards with friends, and travelling. She loved her family dearly.
A private family memorial will be held.
