Ellen was born on February 27, 1923, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel Annie Snyder. Ellen was a very active person. Her and her husband would travel to rollerskate. They would even stay out to the early morning, 3AM, because they were having so much fun. Her active lifestyle contributed much to her long life. Ellen loved to knit, and she especially loved to cook. Her family specifically loved her New Year's meal. Ellen would cook sauerkraut, potatoes, and pork chops every New Year. Another thing that Ellen was phenomenal at making was pies. No one could bake a pie like Ellen, and this is something that Ellen took a lot of pride in. She loved being the designated pie maker at any and every event.
Ellen was a very kind, loving, and strong woman until she left this world. She will be forever missed by her family and anyone who was lucky enough to know her.
Ellen's life is left to be celebrated by her daughter, Nada (Bruce) Chaffee; grandson, Curtis J. Chaffee; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ellen was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Clarence Scheurman and Ethel Oliver; sister, Eva Tazza; brother, Clarence (Sonny) Scheurman; and grandson, Christopher L. Chaffee.
