Forrest Lee Lorimer, age 71, of Lansing, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside, on Thursday July 12, 2018. He will be lovingly remembered by his “bride” of 42 years, Penny, his daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Forrest was born on November 22, 1946 in Wray, Colorado to Erma Jean (Gaskill) and Forrest Dean Lorimer. He proudly served in the US Navy for 10 years during the Viet Nam Era. Upon discharge he was plant manager for Schafers Bakery. Forrest also worked for Medler Electric, General Electric and Home Depot until his retirement in 2008. Salmon fishing on the Great Lakes and wood working were some of his favorite hobbies.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Al Maile; and father-in-law, Norman Healey. He is survived by his wife, Penny; daughters, Danielle (Steven) Terry and Sandra Morgan; 4 grandchildren, Michael and Katie Terry, Samuel and Sophia Morgan; brother, Albert Glen (Mona) Lorimer; sisters, Cheryl (Ron) Greenhow, Glenda Lorimer; several nieces; nephews; great friends; and his beloved mother-in-law, Geneieve Healey.
A Memorial Service for Forrest will take place at 2:00 pm Friday July 20, 2018 with visitation one hour prior at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington Street, DeWitt, MI 48823.
