Gail E. Stevens, age 68, died May 12, 2012. She was born July 14, 1943 in Flint, MI to Arthur and Mary (Burrelson) Brookey. Gail was a devoted ER nurse at Sparrow Hospital for 25 years and retired from PHP of Mid MI. She collected santas, antique dishes and was a long-time member of Redeemer United Methodist Church. Gail especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Evart (1983). Surviving are her 2 daughters, Christine (Randy) Stine and Meridith (Kurt) Porath-Grangood; son, Michael (Wendy); 10 grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah and Connor Stine, Jacob, Alexis and Nicholas Stevens, Kyle and Emma Porath, Brenden and Marley Grangood; 2 sisters, Susan (Pat) Dowdall and Marilyn (Ron) Graham. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Redeemer United Methodist Church, 13980 Schavey Road, DeWitt, MI 48820 with Rev. Martin DeBow officiating. Interment will be in DeWitt Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt.
