

Gene H. Wilkins, born September 17, 1937 passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2013. Mr. Wilkins gave many years of service to the Bath community, serving on the Fire Department and as a member of the Lions Club. He was a Bath historian, active with the Bath School Museum. Gene authored “The Reflections of Bath" and “My Scrapbook of the Bath School Bombing.” He was the proud owner of Wilkins Service Station for many years. Preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Maxine (Delo) Wilkins; he is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, of 54 years; his children, Andrea, Tracey, Scott and Nick; several grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and brother, Craig. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington in Dewitt. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Bath Museum, P.O. Box 310, Bath, MI 48808, in memory of Gene Wilkins.
