Myrtle Howell Brown and Harold V. Brown.
A life-long resident of Michigan he graduated from Eastern High School in 1946 and was employed by
Oldsmobile for 31 years, working as a wood model maker in engineering. He was a member of the
Community of Christ, St Johns congregation.
Gordon was a quiet, gentle and introspective man whose thoughts ran deep. He loved to hunt, go for
long walks in the woods or merely sit under a tree and enjoy the many aspects of nature. But his most
creative side was dramatically shown in his paintings. He was eclectic in what he chose to express on
canvas and whether the painting was mountain or sea scape, animals in the wild or Native Americans,
he was a stickler for detail.
He is survived by Joan, his wife of 43 years; three children: Judy Ferrigan of St Johns, MI, Douglas (Dona)
Brown of Ferum, VA; Steve (Amy) Brown of Cedar Rapids, IA.; a sister Betty Schmidtman of Bath, MI;
five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two nieces, one nephew and numerous great nieces
and nephews.
A lover of the outdoors in its various forms, his ashes will be spread at the hill top home of his oldest son
Doug in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, contributions would be gratefully received by the Hometown Hospice, 1681
Woodbridge Park Ave., Lapeer, MI 48446.
