

Howard James "Jim" Niswonger of DeWitt, born July 15, 1942 to Lawrence and Wilda (Sheele) Niswonger in Mason, Michigan, passed away December 2, 2014 at the age of 72. He proudly served in the US National Guard. Since 1976 he was the owner/operator of Jim's Service and Used Cars. He was an avid racecar fan and for several years he raced stockcars. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing; loved spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with his friends. Mr. Niswonger was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Jay and Ginnie; his sisters, Alice, Pearl and Brenda; brother, Dennis and son, Leroy. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce; daughter, Nancy; sons, Don (Amy) and Rick; grandchldren, Heather, Heidi, Jon, Amy Jo, Tiffany, Jasmine, Carson, Saje, and Willow; great-grandchildren, Marra, Andre and Marley; sisters, Betty and Bonnie; brothers-in-law, Cave and Joe (Karen); several cousins, nieces, nephews; and special friends, Al, Dean, and Rusty. A memorial service, officiated by Chaplain Curt Peterson, will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 13, at the DeWitt VFW Post 671, 12250 Old US 27. The family will receive friends and relatives from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the VFW. Those desiring may make contributions to VFW Post 671, P.O.
