Irene Murrille Swierczynski

Irene Murrille Swierczynski, 96, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on December 31, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1929, in Lansing, Michigan to Casper and Amy (Ellsworth) Wolfe. She was employed at Michigan Bell Telephone Company for a time. She married John Swierczynski and they spent 70 years raising a family until his passing in 2022. Together, they raised 4 rambunctious boys.

Irene is survived by 3 sons, Kevin (Catherine) Swierczynski, Daniel (Gail) Swierczynski, and Christopher Swierczynski; 5 grandchildren, Adam, Audrey, Sara, Luke, and Rebecca; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, David Swierczynski, and her parents.

Irene was an avid reader and enjoyed doing word puzzles and traveling. She loved spending her summers at the cottage in Harrison, Michigan. When not there, she spent many hours volunteering at her church; whether it was quilting blankets or spending time at the hospital she was always helping. She will always be remembered for her kindness and deep concern for others.

The funeral service will be held on January 11, 2026, at 11:00 am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, located at 205 E Washington, DeWitt, MI 48820, US. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
