Jack M. Fraser, of Watertown Township, was born on May 23, 1926 in Lansing, Michigan. He is the son of the late Archie and Goldie Fraser and passed away at Sparrow Hospital on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the age of 88. He served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific aboard an LST and saw action in the Philippines and Okinawa. He was a graduate of Ferris State College. Jack was a longtime resident of Lansing, but moved to Watertown Township with his family in 1973. He was a City of Lansing Police officer for 18 years where he retired at the rank of sergeant. He owned and operated his multi-unit house real estate properties for many years. At the same time he was a member of the Lansing Board of Realtors as a member of the Lud Real-Estate Company. In his retirement years, Jack served as Treasurer for Watertown Township, Clinton County for nine years. While working in local government he was very active in the Clinton County Republican Party and was vice chair of the Clinton County Republicans. He was an avid duck hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Leo Fraser. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Vita; and his two sons, Mike in Kansas, and his son Patrick in New York with his wife Judy and their three sons Mark, Daniel, and Ben.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, Dewitt, MI. from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Jack.
