Born May 21, 1924 in Eaton County, passed away May 16, 2011 at the age of 86. James was preceded in death by brother Albert Bopp Jr., and his mother Gladys (Patterson) Mather. Surviving is his wife, Marilyn Diamond; and 2 sisters, Doris Dargitz, and Jean Krantz. Jim was proud to have served our country in the U.S. Army in Korea. Jim retired from Motor Wheel in 1982, after 38 years of service. He enjoyed saving and scrapbooking news stories, and liked to read. He also enjoyed hiking, walking and working outside. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt (with visitation 1 hour prior) with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey O’Neill officiating. Interment will follow at Hurd Cemetery in Dewitt Township.
