

Clara “Janelda” Fish (Presson), 80, of Dewitt, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, June 8, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on November 9, 1944, in Cairo, Illinois, she was the cherished daughter of James N. Presson and Clara Marguerite Presson-Maxwell.
Janelda was preceded in death by her father, James N. Presson (1953); her mother, Clara Marguerite Presson-Maxwell (2010); and her beloved granddaughter, Kelsey Lynne Bauman (2007).
She is survived by her devoted husband, Gordon Fish; daughter, Nanette (Jody) Mayes of Houghton Lake, Michigan; son, Eric (Kay) Fish of Richmond Hill, Georgia; granddaughter, Kaylee (Joe) Potter of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grandsons, Noah Mayes of Dewitt, Michigan and Alden Fish of Boonville, North Carolina; and sister-in-law Linda Dinklage of Linden, North Carolina.
Janelda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who took an active and joyful role in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She and Gordon enjoyed 60 years of a joyful marriage. They shared a passion for travel, embarking on countless day trips and extended vacations, often joined by their children and grandchildren, creating cherished memories. An exceptional cook, Janelda made Thursdays special with family dinners that brought everyone together.
A faithful member of First Baptist Church in St. Johns, Janelda’s warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.
Funeral services, provided by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of St. Johns. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a luncheon. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM at East Lawn Memory Gardens.
