Jennie Rose Hunt

Jennie Rose Hunt went to Heaven on August 28, 2013, age 91. She was born July 3, 1922, in Boyne Falls, MI, the daughter of Peter and Zofia (Gierula) Fiel. She came to Lansing at the age of 18 and worked as a waitress in the 1940s at the Senate Grill and Famous Grill. She met Robert Hunt at a dance and they married on May 29, 1948, in Boyne Falls. They were charter members of the Catholic Community of St. Jude in DeWitt. She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Donald) Reed of Dimondale, Allan of DeWitt, and Joyce (Thomas) Wegener of Lansing; granddaughter, Rebecca (Steven) Lantzy of East Lansing; great-grandson, Nicholas Lantzy; brother, Augustine; sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Barbara Hunt; and many nieces and nephews. Jennie was predeceased by her husband, Robert, daughters, Joanne and Kathy Jo; six sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be held at the Catholic Community of St. Jude in DeWitt on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rosary prayed at 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held immediately following the Rosary at noon. Burial will take place at the DeWitt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Catholic Community of St. Jude.
