Linda Sue Salemka, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian, Michigan. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Donal Salemka and Kathryn Conklin Salemka-Shire and stillborn brother, Nathan. Linda is survived by her brother, Mark (Mea Dora) Salemka of Onsted, Michigan; her nephew, Matt and she loved her sweet grandniece, Mackenzie. She is also survived by many cousins. Linda attended DeWitt elementary School and graduated from DeWitt High School. She worked for Michigan State University for 35+ years including Crop & Soil Science. While working full-time she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from MSU in 2002. Linda had many interests in her life. She loved to read and collect all kinds of books. She especially loved her Kindle. She loved to travel in the US and traveled to London, England to see her pen pal of many years. Linda was active in the DeWitt Community Band playing clarinet. She loved listening to old time band groups. She enjoyed her pets through the years and enjoyed going to the movies and watching older movies on TV. Linda was looking forward to watching the new Dr. Who series – her favorite Syfy. She enjoyed playing Mahjongg with friends. She did all kinds of needlework projects. She enjoyed her time at Great Lakes Christian Home in Holt, Michigan. She loved a good book, drinking a cup of tea and wearing one of her hats. Linda attended Sycamore Church in Lansing, MI. A committal service will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. at DeWitt Cemetery, 801 N. Bridge St., DeWitt. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.grdewitt.com
