Marie Fiedler, formerly of St. Clair Shores, and most recently Abbott Parkside, East Lansing, died January 12, 2020 at Stoneleigh Residence Hospice of Lansing at the age of 95 years. Marie was born on September 1,1924 to Joseph and Karolina Bell in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up on the East-side of Detroit and graduated from Nativity Commercial High School. She worked as a secretary to the plant manager at Plymouth Motors in Detroit. Marie married Wilfred (Bill) Fiedler in 1950 and raised five children in their home in St. Clair Shores. Marie was a kind and compassionate wife, mother, and friend. She loved to cook and entertain. She always loved when she could be in the service of others and was a volunteer with St. Stephen’s Ministries. Marie lived by a quote by Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you’ve said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

She is survived by her children; Denise of San Francisco, California, Bill (Kathy) of Littleton, Colorado, David (Lynn) Dewitt, Michigan, John of Raleigh, North Carolina and Joe (Kathleen) of Laguna Niguel, California; grandchildren Kelley, Patrick, Nathan, Alex, Aaron, Zachary, Matthew, and Bryan; and great-grandchildren Kinsley, Harlan, Owen and Bronx.

She was predeceased by her parents and brothers Henry and Joseph Bell, and her husband Wilfred Fiedler.

A memorial mass at St. Thomas Aquinas in East Lansing will be planned in the Spring. More details to follow.
