Dear wife, friend and devoted mother and grandmother, Mary Ann Dorothy (Kloeckner) Stoneman went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 14, 2013. Mary Ann was born March 9, 1932 in Riley Township to parents Alfred and Pauline (Fedewa) Kloeckner. She attended Holy Trinity Elementary and graduated from St. Johns High School in l950. One hot summer night at a dance in Ovid, she met her future husband, John (Jack) Stoneman from Ashley. They were married on November 21, 1953 at Holy Trinity Church in Fowler. John and Mary Ann raised six children, their proudest accomplishments. Mary Ann and John were former members of St. Therese Parish in Lansing, and also founding parishioners of the Catholic Community of St. Jude Church in DeWitt. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 60 years, John (Jack); children: Kathleen (James) Wilcox; Debra; Diane (Michael); Douglas (Nancy); Karen (Dennis); and Kris (Debbie). Her legacy also includes 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mary Ann is survived by her sisters: Arlene (Roy) Smith and Carol (Jerry) Burgtorf, sister-in-laws, Jenine (Leroy) and Joyce (Alvin) as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline and Alfred; brothers Alvin, Robert and Leroy as well as her sister Theresa. She was especially grateful for the loving friendship of her dear friend, Mrs. Betty Mathers. Mary Ann will be remembered for her exceptional baked goods, love of music, generous spirit and her mischievous sense of humor. Her funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19 at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 North Bridge Street in DeWitt, with Reverend Robert Irish presiding. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Washington in DeWitt and at church on Friday one hour before mass. Burial will follow directly after at the City of DeWitt Cemetery. Mary Ann is finally at peace, escaping the bonds of Alzheimer’s to dance with her Savior Jesus Christ.
