Max Leroy Locher was born October 13, 1920 to Francis and Mina (Bixby) Locher in DeWitt, MI, on the Locher Family Homestead. He enjoyed growing up on the farm with his older siblings and his twin, Maxine. He was fond of his horse, Old Jenny, and his dog, Laddie. Max married his sweetheart, Loretta Mable Loux on August 18, 1943. They spent 61 blissful years together until Loretta’s death in 2004. Max was a salesman and supervisor for the Massey Ferguson Company for many years until his retirement in 1981. Max loved wildlife and the outdoors, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his beloved family. Max was fun-loving, gentle, kind and patient with everyone he met. He was the World’s Best Grandpa, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his lovely best friend, Helen Bogart; his children Gary (Linda) Locher, Randy (Michelle) Locher; daughters-in-law June Scarborough and Linda Locher; grandchildren Megan Locher, Melinda (Matthew) Locher Jones; great-grandchildren, Marcus and Maverick Jones and also many cherished nieces and nephews.
Max will no doubt delight in being reunited with his parents, siblings, and Loretta!
