Maxine Schlott Siefert, 90, of East Lansing, MI passed away May 10, 2013 with her family by her side. She was born August 15, 1922 in Lansing, MI to the late William and Lue Elliott. She was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School in 1940, attended Lansing Business College and was a member of Okemos Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband David Schlott and her second husband Robert Siefert. Maxine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was outgoing, caring and friendly to everyone she met. She will be missed by many including her friends and staff at Independence Village. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Sievert of Ashley, MI and Shirley Warstler of St. Johns, MI; children Michael (Cheri) Schlott of Plymouth, MI, Mark (Dede) Schlott of DeWitt, MI, Patricia (Gary) Hughes of Calumet, MI and Rebecca Jones (Ian Doran) of Grand Blanc, MI; grandchildren Melanie (Rich) Vollbach, Michael (Kristen) Schlott, Corbin Schlott, Ian (Colleen) Hughes, Anna (James) McDonald, Alex Hughes, Irving Jones, Katy (Mark) Burke, Eric Jones and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by step-daughters, Kristine Siefert (Kalyan Dutta), Kathleen Holland, Karen Siefert (Harry Jacobson), Klaudia (Paul) Brace; step-grandchildren Lori (Robin) Wright, Noah and Reed Brace; and 2 step-great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at the Okemos Community Church, 4734 Okemos Road, on Tuesday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeanne M. Randels officiating. Friends may call prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Okemos Community Church. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel.
